Anne M. Scott, DMD

Developing lasting relationships and friendships with a variety of people has been so very meaningful for me during my 23 years of practice, and is one of the rewards of working in the dental profession. Gaining insight into people’s worlds has given me so many different perspectives and views on life. I think I have a greater openness to listen and understand people’s individual thoughts and feelings because of the many interactions I have.

I am most passionate about helping patients achieve their dental goals. This may include overcoming anxieties, developing trust, gaining back self-confidence, and rebuilding teeth for better function. I get excited about helping people smile again so they can live a happier, fuller life.

I have gained so much from helping patients achieve dental optimal health. Not only have I gained fulfillment from giving people the ability to smile again, but also from developing strong relationships with so many unique individuals.

I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Zoology at the University of Idaho before attending Oregon Health Sciences University to acquire my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Upon graduating in 1997, I moved across the country and completed a General Practice Residency program at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. My family and friends led me back to Portland, where I practiced for several years before finding my home here in Bend.

I have been involved in continuing education throughout my dental career. I have taken many classes focusing on all aspects of dentistry,
and am currently taking classes through the Kois Center, which offers a comprehensive curriculum providing the latest advances in aesthetics, implant, and restorative dentistry. Continuing education is a vital part of dentistry and allows me to provide patients with the best possible care. It also allows me to offer the most current, technologically-advanced and comprehensive care available.

I am a proud member of a number of professional organizations, including:

  • American Dental Association
  • Oregon Dental Association
  • Central Oregon Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry

In my spare time, I love to create things! That includes sewing handbags out of leather. I also enjoy running, biking, skiing, and hiking.

I am passionate about giving back to the community that has given me so much, and spend my time volunteering at the Kemple Children’s Clinic to help children in need. I also support the Central Oregon Boys and Girls Club and Caldera, a program that helps disadvantaged kids in our community. Being active in our community is an essential part of who we are. I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place, and feel it is important for me to help in any way I can in order to maintain and strengthen our beautiful community.
